
The Chief Minister has approved several projects for the development of Rajpura

To change the face of Rajpura town, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday approved several development projects including sports stadium, Aam Aadmi Clinic, Yoga facility, which would be completed in the coming days.
Presiding over the meeting of the Papsu Township Development Board at his office here, the Chief Minister said that the historical town of Rajpura would be transformed to restore its ancient glory. He said that the budget of the Board has been approved, in which the income has been estimated at Rs 19.32 crore and the expenditure at Rs 7.19 crore. Bhagwant Mann said that for the beautification of Rajpura town, the board has approved the construction of a stadium (with an area of about 7 acres) in Rajpura town and a park (with an area of about 7 kanals) near the old bus stand of Rajpura town.
The Chief Minister said that for the smooth functioning of the Board, the formation of the Executive Committee of Papsu Township Development Board has been approved. He said that this committee would be headed by a senior officer, Financial Commissioner, Revenue. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that for the convenience of the residents of the area, approval has also been given to construct a road in Ganesh Nagar area with a cost of about Rs 84 lakh.
The Chief Minister said that for the welfare of the slum areas, approval has also been given for the construction of Dharamshala in an area of 585 square yards at Purani Mirch Mandi. He said that his government was committed for the all-round development of Rajpura city and would leave no stone unturned for this noble cause. He said that these development works would be completed on priority basis and quality checking of these works would be ensured from time to time.
MLA and Vice Chairperson of the Board Neena Mittal and others were also present on the occasion.
