Taking forward the mission of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make agriculture a profitable profession, the Horticulture Department is making significant contribution in crop diversification. This information was given by the Minister for Horticulture, Defense Services Welfare, Freedom Fighters and Information and Public Relations, Punjab, Chetan Singh Jouramajra while launching the ‘Kisan-e-Horticulture’ app during a review meeting with the officials of Horticulture Department at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh.
Emphasizing on the objective of the department, Jodmajra said that he would continue to make efforts to make horticulture crops competitive at the international level by introducing new techniques of horticulture in the farmers’ fields, so that the farmers would not only be able to get information about the schemes of the department , but will also be able to apply and track your application online.
Giving information about the newly launched app, Jodamajra said that the main objective of this app is to provide information about the schemes of the department to the farmers quickly, to apply online for financial assistance under the schemes, to bring transparency in the department and tracking of applications. To do. He further said that through this app, farmers would be informed about the daily prices and weather of fruits and vegetables in different mandis.
Taking stock of the progress of different districts, Jodamajra instructed the officers to visit maximum number of farmers’ fields and give technical information about horticulture schemes through camps etc., so that they can earn more income than conventional crops. Can
