Chandigarh:
Waris Punjab De organization chief Amritpal Singh was arrested by the Punjab Police on Saturday. Earlier, the police arrested six of his associates. The Punjab Police has registered a case against Amritpal Singh in many other cases including hate speech.
Amritpal’s family moved to Dubai in 2012
Please tell that Amritpal has taken over the reins of this organization only five months ago. Amritpal is a resident of village Jandupur Khera in Amritsar. Even before 2012, Amritpal’s family had moved to Dubai. There the family started the work of transport. In 2013, the work of transport in Dubai started looking at itself.
Amritpal was quite shy, studied Khalistani ideology in Dubai
In August 2022, Amritpal came to Punjab alone from Dubai. In October, Amritpal took over as the new head of the organization ‘Waris Punjab De’ in Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala’s village Rode. This organization was formed by Deep Sidhu, accused of Delhi violence. In the ceremony organized during this time, Amritpal, describing himself as a follower of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala, called upon the Sikh youth to get ready for the next war. After this the intelligence agencies had become alert. An inquiry was started about him. An officer of the Intelligence Department, who went to investigate in the ancestral village, says that people told that he was very shy. He was average in studies too. He has been taught the lesson of Khalistani ideology in Dubai itself.
Khalistani supporters were involved in Amritpal’s dastarbandi
The members of such organizations also participated in the dastarbandi of Amritpal Singh in village Rode, which in one way or the other had connection with Khalistani terrorism. Khalistani slogans were also raised from the stage. Babbar Khalsa, banned International Sikh Youth Federation and old members of previously banned organizations were also seen in it.
Bhindranwala’s family has left
Jasbir Singh Rode, nephew of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala, who was the head of Damdami Taksal, has sided with Amritpal Singh, the head of Waris Punjab De Jathebandi. Jasbir Singh said that he has nothing to do with Amritpal Singh’s ideology. Amritpal cannot replace Bhindranwala. He was a different personality. He never demanded the creation of Khalistan.
Former Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib Bhai Jarnail Singh Rode said that Khalistan could be Amritpal’s own agenda and that of his Jathebandi. The Bhindranwala family does not agree with this. He said that if Amritpal starts a campaign to propagate Sikhism or drink nectar, we will support him, but he does not support the demand for a separate Khalistan or state. He said that even Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala had never demanded Khalistan. He always demanded implementation of Anandpur Sahib Matta. Under this, there was an advocacy of giving rights to the states, there was no question of Khalistan in it.
