Chandigarh:
The state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had promised a year ago while taking oath that every possible effort would be made for the welfare of every section of the state. Under the same chain, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs should ensure that in case of death of any employee of the department, there is no delay in the process of giving employment to his heirs.
These views were expressed by the State Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Shri Lal Chand Kataruchak while reviewing the functioning of the department at Anaj Bhavan, Sector 39 today.
While instructing the departmental officials on this occasion, Mr. Kataruchak said that concrete efforts should be made to reduce the number of pending cases in the courts and if possible, this number should be brought to zero and each case should be studied in depth.
He clarified that steps should be taken quickly to implement the policy decisions taken in the meetings held for the betterment of the department and the entire work should be carried out in a transparent manner. He warned that irregularities will not be tolerated at all.
In view of the upcoming wheat season, the minister said that coordination should be made with the health department to make adequate arrangements for first aid in the markets.
On this occasion, apart from others, Director of the Department Ghanshyam Thori, AMD Pangrain Parampal Kaur Sidhu, Joint Director Dr. Anjuman Bhaskar and Ajeveer Singh Sarau were present.
