PM Modi meets Oscar-winning ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ couple Bomman, Bellie

Mudumalai (Tamil Nadu), April 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Bomman and Bellie couple, stars of the Oscar-winning documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ on Sunday.

PM Modi can be seen in two different looks in the photos. In the first image, he is seen interacting with the couple while clad in a white kurta-pyjama and a black Nehru jacket.

In the next photo, he is dressed for the jungle safari in a khaki-coloured shirt, pants and hat.

PM Modi posed with the couple Bomman and Bellie. He also met the elephant featured in the documentary.

The Prime Minister also launched the International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA) in Karnataka with the aim to curb poaching and illegal wildlife trade.

During the programme, he released ‘Amrit Kaal Ka Vision for Tiger Conservation,’ a summary report of the 5th cycle of Management Effective Evaluation of Tiger Reserves.

PM Modi also unveiled a commemorative coin marking the 50th anniversary of Project Tiger.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi visited Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka where he engaged with frontline field employees and self-help organisations participating in conservation efforts, as part of programmes to mark 50 years of ‘Project Tiger’. On Sunday, PM Modi also paid a visit to the Theppakadu Elephant Camp in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, where he met with mahouts and kavadis.
